Why Do We Give?
2 Corinthians 9 teaches us to give joyfully to God. Giving is sensitive and often poorly received, but Scripture emphasises its importance. Our giving reflects God's generous sacrifice in Christ; thus, it demands our sincere, heartfelt response.
Matthew 6:21 states, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” reminding us that giving is a matter of the heart, not just money. God's aim is to transform our hearts through obedient and willing giving, rooted in gratitude.
Biblical giving is an act of enthusiastic obedience, driven by love, not obligation. Let Scripture guide you in reflecting on your heart’s attitude towards generosity, starting with Matthew 6:19-34.
